  The Prenatal Heart Listener is completely non-intrusive and is absolutely safe for you and your baby.  It was developed by a neonatal nurse and uses the bell stethoscope method to detect your baby's sounds.  It does not use any AC current, ultrasound, or radio waves.
  
  
• How does it work?
  Place the monitor on your bare stomach, press the activation button, and the monitor will amplify the sounds.
  
  
• When is the best time to listen?
  The best time of day to listen is typically 3 - 4 hours after a meal, and in the evening when your baby is most active.  Your baby's sounds may be heard as early as the middle of the second trimester.  Some mothers have reported hearing the heartbeat earlier.

  Your baby's heart beats 140-170 times a minute and will sound like a rapidly galloping horse. Her hiccups will sound like 2 rapid drumbeats, and her kicks will sound like soft thuds. You will also hear the nutrients passing through the placenta. This will have a whooshing sound.
